Wow. It's been a long time since I've been on DA. My last update was in April, a LOT has happened since then. I'll spare some of the bad details, some things are just best left un-talked about. Yes, it's my fault that there's been so many volcanic eruptions this year. XD But anyway, it actually has been a pretty epic six months.
I went to Massachusetts over the summer. I drove there in my grandpa's F-150 cuz my car was getting fixed. Did I mention anything about the new Ford Focus I got earlier this year? I really don't remember, and don't feel like reading old entries. XD Well, it's awesome and it's silver and has a robot in it. It has the Microsoft SYNC feature and it talks and whatnot. lol It also has a fox on it, cuz it's from Fox motors. XD The reason it was in the shop is because Darkrai was smoking chronic on the way to Flint and then crashed into Giratina, who got ebola and died on I-75. Yep, true story. Never let Darkrai borrow your car. D= ANYWAY, yeah drove to Massachusetts in this horrible tank of a pickup truck. Almost got run off a mountain in Pennsylvania a few times. XD I somehow made it to Mass in one piece with Valerie, and we stayed at her AWESOME uncles' house. Tony and Phil are the coolest uncles ever, by the way. They also have an adorable little orange kitten. ^^ We also ended up with her brother, Brian, for the whole trip, and we has random epic adventures throughout Massachusetts (went to Provincetown, it was the best town EVER by the way) and New Hampshire. Gotta love New Hampshire and their cheap cigarettes. Cancer for half price YAY XD I almost got lost in the woodsy part of New Hampshire, though. I also apologize to the porcupine I ran over there. D= I got lucky that it didn't blow the tire up. I thought it was a raccoon until the next day when I saw quills sticking out of the tire. o.O All near death experiences aside, I had alot of fun traveling. And having Brian drive the way back to Michigan helped. XD The rest of the summer was pretty much spent hanging out with Val and my friend Josh doing random stuff, and watching horrible movies. XD It wasn't eventful as much after the trip, but it was fun regardless.
Now that summer's over, things are actually a lot different for me. I'm back in college, after a 5 YEAR long 'vacation'. I started the last week of August. I've got a new outlook about school, and also a new major. 5 years ago, I was going for an art degree, and now I'm going for a science degree. Odd change maybe, but art and science work together for me anyway. I'm going for a degree in Freshwater Studies at the college I'm going to now, so I can take that degree and add to it by going to another school for Marine Biology. I've liked the ocean even longer than I've been an artist, and I love science anyway. I'm not taking any science classes this semester, but I am taking the math credit I'll need to be able to sign up for Oceanography in the spring semester. I'm taking only two classes, (Math 23 and Photography), but I wanted to start out with a light class schedule. I'm not doing so bad in math, even though I haven't done the stuff since 2003. And I LOVE photography. I'm going to upload what I've got so far in prints for the class. My photography class is cool, because I'm learning on a completely manual film camera. So far, I've learned how to chemically develop film, and to use the enlarger to turn the negatives into prints. I'm doing pretty decent with it all too. It's an awesome class, and I'm happy that I signed up for it. I'm pretty sure that I'll actually do okay in school now.
Some less than happy news about my health, though. The nerve problems are getting worse. Last Monday, I ended up going into the emergency room, because there had been numbness in part of my face for four days. My brain's not exploding and I didn't have a stroke or anything, but they couldn't figure out why it happened. I got an emergency appointment with a neurologist, and a diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy. Yet again, the neurologist couldn't tell me why my nerves are doing what they're doing. The numbness has pretty much hit both legs and feet, and also both arms and hands, along with at first the right side of my face, but now more like 75% of my face. I was told pretty much to just suck it up and deal with it. Yeah, because everyone should be able to get 3rd degree burns or accidentally cut down to the bone and not feel it. They keep mentioning the anomaly in the white matter of my brain, but not looking into anything. I can't get the help I need where I live, so I'm gonna find a way to get seen at the University of Michigan hospital. It's one of the best schools and hospitals in the US so maybe someone there can figure this out. I'm 24 years old, and I have nerves similar to my grandpa's, but he's 73 and has diabetes. I take care of myself as much as I can, and this is still going on. My left leg has become almost useless to me now, and when I'm walking, it's pretty much like dragging dead weight that's attached to me. I fall alot more now, too. I'm just hoping that someone downstate can help me out.
Alright, I think that about sums everything that's been going on in the past 6 months.
On a complete random note, I have my halloween costume in mind for this year. I wanna be a turn- of-the century zombie. XD As in when the 19th century became the 20th, not from when the 20th became the 21st, cuz 10 years ago wasn't that interesting XD
